Becoming an MFD, explained simply.
The short, honest answers — no sales call required.
What does a Mutual Fund Distributor do?
A Mutual Fund Distributor (MFD) helps individuals and families invest in mutual funds suited to their goals and risk profile — no stock-picking or market timing. You guide clients toward suitable schemes and earn commission from the AMCs, at no extra cost to the investor.
Do I need to clear the NISM exam?
Yes. Clearing the NISM Series V-A: Mutual Fund Distributors Certification is mandatory in India before you can register. It covers the fundamentals of mutual funds, and we guide your preparation end to end so first-timers can pass with confidence.
How do I get an ARN?
After you clear NISM Series V-A, you apply for an AMFI Registration Number (ARN) through AMFI/CAMS with your KYD and documents. We handle the paperwork and filing for you — the ARN is typically issued within a few working days.
Do I need prior mutual fund experience?
No. As an insurance agent you already have the hardest skills — client relationships, trust and handling paperwork. We provide the product training, talking points and tools, so you don't need any prior mutual fund background to start.
What does it cost to start?
Dhan Saarthi is a regular mutual fund distributor, so it earns AMC commission when your clients stay invested — not on transactions. Of that commission, you keep 90% and Dhan Saarthi keeps 10%.
